HIGH CONCEPT ASPECT
Medical scientist with a (hidden) knack for Biomancy
Skeptic with a healthy dose of paranoia
PHASE ONE: BACKGROUND
Aspect: Out of the nest in pin feathers
Grew up in Boulder, Colorado to loving if somewhat absent minded parents. Mom was a veterinarian, one of the best around. Consequently, I spent my whole life growing up around and working with animals.
I excelled at the sciences in school, especially biology. I chalk this up to my upbringing- hard not to be good at dissecting fetal pigs when your mom has you watching surgery from the time you could talk. I graduated high school early, at 16, and went to Rice University in Houston on a full Biology scholarship.
After finishing my Master’s, I started my professional life at Agennix corporation- one of the biggest pharmaceutical research companies in the world that was opening a branch in Houston.
PHASE TWO: RISING CONFLICT
Aspect: When you can’t get mad, get nosy
My rising star at Agennix stalled somewhat. My experiments were successful-wildly so-but for some reason they weren’t reproduceable by any of my colleagues. At first I just assumed they were incompetent, but after awhile I began to suspect something more nefarious.
Regardless or motives or lack thereof, I felt like my only course of action was to scale back my personal experiments, thereby drawing less attention to myself. I used my extra time to look into past Agennix experiments and perhaps find myself a little leverage on some of my colleagues in case my suspicions are correct.
PHASE THREE: THE STORY
Title: Here Monkey
Aspect: “There’s a scientific explanation for that”
When Rosemary finds a secret failed experiment file, she decides to recreate the conditions in her lab to see what Agennix was up to. A troupe of were-monkeys later, Rosemary has caught the eye of Agennix executives in a dangerous way.
